Ah fuck, I was just going to post about how this thing is 50% off but it looks like sale just ended. Still, even at $14 I think it's worth it, or pop it on your wishlist.

At it's core, it's a card game - so I don't have a ton to say there. Mechanics seem pretty good, though not particularly amazing (it's no Slay the Spire).

That said, what made it very enjoyable for me is the story/campaign, which has a bit of an RPG'ish feel (despite not being a real RPG). It's set in a shadowrun/snow-crash type of setting. Yeah, not particularly original - but if you're a big fan of the genre like me, that's not a big knock on it at all.

It's an indy game, so don't expect amazing production values here (though it's been completely bug free for me, and the artwork isn't bad for this sort of game. Sound sends the mood nicely for a shadowrun setting.

Game obviously didn't get a lot of press, but as you'll see from Steam reviews, people who played it seem to really like it. I'm still playing through the first module, but he's already got an expansion out (which I bought during the sale as well). My pal who is playing has already put in about 20hrs in and still hasn't finished the 1st module (though he thinks he's getting close).

Cool. I love CCGs and cyberpunk, so I'll prob check this out after I get bored of the latest MTG:Arena expansion (which might b a while bc it's pretty awesome).

i drafted the new set almost non-stop from like 10am on saturday until 2am monday morning. i left my house twice the whole weekend. i haven't gone that deep in a video game since WoW.

im burnt out now but ya, the new set is awesome. I managed to play like 10+ drafts without paying any gems as i kept winning.

Haha, I do the opposite. I play my decks into the new cards / sets w/o reading anything about them and learn by playing against them. I don't even add a new card into any deck until I feel like I've seen it all and am comfy with recognizing them by visual, then I take a peak at what I've unlocked along the way.

Harper I went 1-2 in my first allegiance draft, pls advise. I did have three straight 7-win drafts for the core set tho (all using my brilliant "draft a bunch of flying creatures" strategy).

"PlayAllegiance" store code gets you three free packs if you haven't gotten them already

I think I played against Vermatrax the other night in a rly close game - would have added him if they had any sort of social functionality implemented.

I mostly pick 3 colour decks with maybe a 4th colour splash. focus on low cost value creatures and generating card advantage at end game with some removal. i think a lot of the best commons are in black/white. if i dont see a good card, i pick guild gates.

also, bladebrand is an undervalued card. it allows neat combo tricks and earns value. bladebrand+footlight fiend will kill 2 creatures and draw you a card. bladebrand+that red creature that deals 1 dmg to all enemy creatures is a 1-sided board wipe.

i generally play with 1 copy of dead revels and 1 copy ill-gotten inheritance as they are never picked but i like only 1 copy of them.

when i started drafting, i'd keep LSV's limited set review open and use that to make all my picks

(if you go 3 or 4 colors, you still need to have 2 base colours with the other 1 or 2 colors as splash)

I played a couple sealed events and did well with white/black (went 7-2 both times) mainly because of the removal + dead revels and outnumbering my opponent with flyers with the afterlife effect. Getting a Spawn of Mayhem in one of them helped too.

I just started playing MTG Arena a week or two ago. This is the first time I've played any MTG since the last Ravnica block in 2013. MTG Arena is basically everything I wish MTG:O had been back in the day. I realize Arena is a little different and not a lot of cards are available right now, but I'm not sure how anyone could play MTG:O when this is available.

MTG:O will exist for awhile as it offers eternal formats, which MTG arena doesn't. However, I suspect MTG Arena will progress to become an eternal format as well.

MTG:O was too expensive and ugly, so I never even tried it. I've already dropped $60 on MTG arena.

Same feeling here. It's been great.

MTGO is a UX Designer's worst nightmare. Takes a lot longer to play too because all of the controls are manual or buried in Windows 95 style submenus. Hearthstone providing such a refined design template for MTG might be Blizzard's lasting impact on the CCG space.

I mean, we do have a TZT Discord. I'm sure @Red would make a MTG Pussy Juice channel for us if people didn't want to talk in the general one (which nobody uses anyway so it's like 20 lurkers).

Ill-gotten Inheritance was in both of the games I lost. That card isn't bad at all. It puts a time bomb on your opponent and pressures them in any game where you get early damage in or stall out.

Pal I don't think people aren't using it because they're scared of the prospect of talking to other nerds on the internet. I'll talk to you if u don't get clingy or weird on me.
