So, guys. We have enough talent here to build a decent game on our off time. Does anyone else want to jump in and help build something from ground up.

I think going 2d is the way to go to avoid any crazy 3d models and animations.

We have several programmers, artists, and ops folks here. I'd be happy to manage the project

What's your concept? Mine would be a fighting off message board of shitposters that are confident they are right. You'd have to navigate the maze of rhetoric and logical fallacies to make it to the end. Once you beat the final boss... we'll call him Straw-Man, the game ends and you're called a faggot.

Hell, it doesn't even have to be a game. Could be an app we could profit on as well.

As for game idea, I'm down with anything as long add it's something a small team could finish

We did try this once before

I was hella into it and still am but at the end of the day it's the lowest priority and that means I tend never to get around to it. Agrul put in work on basic mechanics and I dallied for a while on some sprites but as soon as I hit a stumbling block it was p much game over

I dunno I guess if I felt like it had enough independent momentum I'd probably feel more obligated and compelled to get into it but

Ok, now that I'm on a PC it's easier to type. Here's my thought process on this.

I'd like to see us build either an App (android/ios) or a game (android/ios/pc/browser) that we can do as a team. Probably the first iteration of this would be something fairly easy that wouldn't be crazy awesome to play, but something we could use to learn how we can best contribute with each other and figure things out. It also gives us the ability to finish something and gain momentum with our dev-team.

I'd be happy to setup all the initial things like any wikis, git repos, code review, etc... things that we could use to make this happen.

Here's my idea for how we'd get this working and how each of us takes credit.
    - We'd setup a wiki page, forum (this?), repo, code review site, etc...
    - Publish the game/app as-is weekly for our TZTers to play with and prod around with.
    - Weekly scrum/conf call if we can to see what's going on with the project. I know this wouldn't work for everyone, but we can at least have our wants/ideas met during this and also if you can't make it, put your comments/questions on a wiki page we track this in.

Also, if we start small, some of the things we do with the small app/game (Authentication, networking, etc...) we could re-use in the larger app/game so we don't have to re-build everything from scratch.

As far as Idea's I've had recently:

    - Yogr's Trading card game (with his consent)
    - A picture scavenger hunt game with object recognition and the ability to vote on peoples pictures. This could get you points and likes, etc... We could trend pictures taken during a day and make the trends hot items to take pics of.
    - My App Idea (Being able to track and know when to maintain/repair components). My idea is for bikes, but could take this and put it anywhere. I already have some ground work done for this while building my RESTful API.
    - 2d game where you run around with shitty old school dragon warrior/final fantasy graphics and attack each other and monsters. Get new weapons, level up, spells, etc...
    - Yogr + I's Gem Carry game that we started to build but lost interest in a few years back. Basically this game is there's a gem in the middle, and 2 bases on each side. You rush to the gem, and try to push it to the other teams base. In the fight, you level up, get cool spells etc...

TZT shouldn't have a game that doesn't involve trolls. In fact, I'd make an app: Trolls. It's an app that releases one random pic/text/internet search to every person signed up. People swipe through the content and post sick burns. The highest voted comment after 100 votes gets the troll award. If TZT can't spread toxic content to the rest of the world, what good is it?

It would be funny to assign a neural network to every major poster to mimick that poster's posting and let that bot post from those users' accounts periodically and see if anyone could tell which posts are authentic

Shit AD, we could do a Street Fighter type game with your trolls. Green Troll + Blue troll go at it. They have special abilities, etc.. and we could push to FireTV for the place to play the game.

There's a lot of stuff we could monitize on. Hell, we could even look at making Echo apps for the Amazon Echo using the Alexa SDK using AWS Lambda to handle it.

I'm already working on a game that I basically just need art for which is in development w/ my artist.

I think if I did a new project it'd be something like this:

    www.cryptocribs.com

They just took airbnb, turned it into a DApp, and accept only cryptocurrencies. They didn't have an ICO and I don't think they even have their own coin, I think they just deal with other coins and take fees.

Businesses like that have a lot of potential right now. And if cryptos are to survive long term, people will need services like this to really use them. All these other companies that aren't adopting crypto right now could fall way behind, as crypto services can offer less fees and data costs.

I'd like to create a Ticketmaster / StubHub / SeatGeek / TickPick / GetUrFuckinTicketsBroh service but thru cryptos.

That or a FanDuel / DraftKings.

I might be down to create a game (ideally with Yogr) after I'm done with mine, but that will be 2019 at the earliest. I don't think I want to spend my free time doing more pixel art or coding when I already devote ~50 hours a week to it.

But I can help anyone who gets stuck with something in Unity or needs feedback on sprite artwork.

I think any thing that utilizes Cryto Currencies as their form of payment is kind of stupid at this point. It's such a new area and so volatile to any changes. I mean look at the 500M bitcoin hack that happened over the weekend. I don't want to have my eggs in that basket and have it gone because my 'bank' doesn't understand security.

I'd be cool to offer a proxy service to accept their bitcoins, but I'd really only want to accept accepted monetary dollars.

It's stupid and it's going to be really fucking annoying at some point if it keeps up

Company scrip for every business you want to engage with--they'll probably start paying their employees in it, too

    Confirmed out of touch :)

    Saving this post for 2019.

But really though, those hacks happened because some employee was sloppy with their password and the hackers were able to slip a few lines of code into the exchange platform to re-route all coins of X into their own wallets.

It's not the problem of cryptocurrencies themselves but just a few dumb employees with access they shouldn't have if they are careless. Also bad processes to allow hacked code to go right into the live pipeline.

And it's people's fault for trusting shady ass crypto exchanges.

As soon as legit companies emerge and all these bad eggs stop giving crypto a bad name, the benefits well outweigh the negatives.
