I actually know a researcher working on that. He has a working prototype, for part of the problem at least. Are there any details of what this company is trying? Not that any of this matters for stock prices. Biggest problem is probably that it's a small market where those who most need it are poor. Also, they might get some competition...
I don’t know a ton about it. The post claimed to have no competition though and that is already proving to be a lie from multiple sources.
I’m so happy you got into Empower so I can feel less bad about just getting liquidated on LINK. Empower is the fucking Zion Williamson of stonks. A pure beast.
Might just be that they are unaware of it. Stuff like that happens more than you would think in both research and the start up world. Still not a good sign. I'm mainly concerned with the lack of affluent customers though. The consumer drone business is very low margin with DJI dominating everything (supposedly with Chinese gov suppport). You need to target some high margin niche area. Your only customer with deep pockets that might buy this is likely the U.S. military. Others generally do not operate in mined areas, do not care about saving lives, or cannot afford to pay much. It's basically a really cool NGO aid project. It's sad, but from a strictly economic perspective, if you want to invest in drones there is probably more money in drones dropping mines than drones removing mines. As an aside, it's not hard to put weapons on drones either. It's not something most researchers want to touch, but I've seen some impressive DIY attempts with airsoft guns:
It's a military/corporate play I think. Like it's literally AI specifically for the detection of landmines. Which is a big deal if you are opening up a factory in Cambodia (as fucking horrifying a statement as that is). But they said it was something like a 700m market estimate. Which may be an overstatement. And then if there is a lot of competition, it's probably not worth it. There is other good shit out there.
Holy shit lol. This is the reddest of red days for my watch list. I’m not in all of these, obviously, but good lord: So, yeah. This isn’t just a Bitcoin thing. Also look like I should have gone all in on landline drones.
yeah my entire portfolio is red today, presumably because of the higher bond yields I'm way too long in the game to even care about this shit, much less overreact to it. Here's my 1Y chart: that tiny dip on the right side was today/yesterday
i was so close to buying back in on PTON calls when it was down 12....then got a call from a client and buy order didnt go through. "lost" out on 50% gains
I’m not complaining. The last couple of months have been ridiculous. I ate shit today though. The Culture War has been decided. Michael Bolton wins.
how much do u guys actually have invested in these graphs and with like what % return bc charts that autoscale w/o numbers arent v revealing
LOL. Well that was entertaining. I still have like $3.50 on Robinhood that's from their free stock that they won't let me transfer out. Like WTF. They "Give" you a free stock for joining and then don't let you withdraw its value? Pure scammy. I can't even close my account because of that stupid $3.50.
