i just saw it and i thought it was good

but i didnt like what they did w/ wolverine's healing factor & being poisoned

i get trying to usher in a new generation of heroes, but the beautiful thing about wolverine's character has always been that he survives everything and has to carry the weight of everyone's suffering w/ him, even as they all die around him

i think there was a better way to end it

I disagree. I think that is the passing of the torch to X2. She now carries the weight of everyone's suffering as they die around her. She has become like her father.

Although, I would have had one of the children be an offspring of magneto (the leader), rip his adamantium out and have Wolverine tear through the clone bone vs adamantium. He would have recovered and taken over Xavier's role. But, that's a happy ending.

I enjoyed the movie in a stand alone way. I know the violence was violent, but I wish the whole move was darker and a little more "real". I always felt Wolverine's character had such a great chance to tell a human story - he essentially suffers the same fate as a "good" vampire, like Angel, or whatever. I wanted the Dancer in the Dark, Requiem for a Dream type story. Seriously intimate and raw. But that is just me.

I like wolverine and stuff but I can't keep up with all the X-Men movies, caught half of the one with Peter Dinklage on TV and felt like I wasn't missing much

I think logan was the only xmen movie I was actually impressed by

I walked out of the newest apocalypse movie because I was bored and it was stupid

I liked a few other xmen movie as mindless fun, but I think Logan is the only one I really liked beyond action eye candy. It's in a league of it's own in terms of xmen stuff for me.

The whites of Data's eye served double duty as retinal simulators and prostate reservoirs. When he'd cum, his eyes would roll back in his head to tip out a loving spoonful which would slide down his spine and shoot out onto Yar.

the anime characters in your sig have a distractingly large gap between their little bunny noses and awkward mouths

I liked Logan. They already did the "Wolverine survives anything/everything" in every previous film. It's not very relatable when your underdog hero is Bleeding Superman without any real threat to his existence.

I think it worked because it focused on three characters. It's too hard to create any sort of emotional connection when you're juggling 9324 characters & multiple conflicts/plots (human-mutants relationship & politics, numerous character backstories, etc) in a two hour film. Days of Future Past is about as good as it gets for that. X-Men would be much better off in an episodic TV series format, if they're intent on cramming in every character from the comic books.

I really can't watch the superhero movies that try to fit in like 15 different major characters. I tried to watch the first Avengers movie years ago and turned it off halfway through because it was so boring and forced. Never thought about watching another one again.

I'm actually surprised no one has tried a high quality TV series with X-Men. They would probably have to get some lesser-known actors, but I feel like they could make it work.

That's because the best X-Men show was made years ago.

Still holds up. Loved that show.

I'm glad to hear that someone else felt this way about the Avengers.

GOTG did the "wacky conflicting personalities eventually learn to work together to defeat the generic bad guy" trope better, and Iron Man 1 was a better movie. The actors that play Thor and Capt America aren't very likable.

    i dont get this perspective

wolvy survived anything/everything is not a one-and-done kind of theme (no good theme is, i guess); you explore its many facets. how does he deal with the death of a friend, child, father, grandfather? in different eras? as different massacres occur? yadda yadda

it's also not necessary for it to be the overriding theme of an entire film; it works great as the profile for a single character, so it doesnt have to continually drive every theatric work

i dont think the "without any real threat to his existence" thing applies. all you have to do is immobilize him to make his life pure shit forever. in the x-men universe he is almost as existentially super fucked as everyone else

also lol @ harper walking out of apocalypse. i walked out of the last airbender. up ur game scrub

    i rly liked logan
    thought both avengers were bad
thought GOTG 1 was fresh and fun
GOTG 2 didn't do too badly, i still enjoyed myself
thought days of future past was pretty cool
    hate the thor movies
    enjoyed both capt. murrica movies
think tobey mcguire spiderman #1 is the best one
thought batman was pretty neat on the whole, with #2 being excellent
batman vs. superman was an atrocity

but do you know what i liked the best of them all

    the watchmen

Likewise to all of the above, except I didn't care for Captain America. Chris Evans comes across like he has a stick up his ass about something, which is made worse with him playing a humorless self-righteous patriot.

Watchmen was awesome + will forever be the zenith of Zack Snyder's career.

Doesn't that make him perfect for the role, though?

I thought both CA movies were better than any of the Iron Man sequels. I think Iron Man I (which is still the best marvel movie) was a fluke that's carried this franchise way farther than it ever should've got, at this point, though
