I saw that in person a few hours before they packed it up for launch
you were working or on a site tour of jpl
Disney has a massive RnD department
I was there for work but I saw the rover as part of a tour
You have secret clearance?
It's awful and you will be prohibited from traveling to certain countries depending on your project (for life possibly)
nothing on the F-35 at Plant 42 was top secret so I didn't have to worry about that, no one cares about that pile of shit
Yeah I have zero interest in applying
Those disney videos are rad. That's the type of shit I would love to work on. I should really carve out some free time and put together a portfolio of artistic machine learning applications.
My godfather is a really high executive at Disney that works in the engineering side, in Imagineering
We may need this soon to get away from this diseased planet.
I saw the twin to Couriosity + Mars yard staging ground a few years back, also on a site tour through through work. Can't remember what they named it.
Sure it was the actual Perseverance you saw and not the twin they use to plan motions on Earth? I assume the one that goes into space is kept in a clean room. If I recall, and if it is like Couriosity, the only diff though is that the original has a nuclear power source while the twin is tethered.
NASA has some great people, but it seems like a pretty slow government type of place. The impression I got is that they have lost quite a bit of talent to SpaceX, who has much higher launch cadence.
It was in the clean room, yeah. They reorganized the whole tour midway when it came through that if we didn’t get there soon we’d miss it because they were shipping it off to the launch site in a few hours.
