400 bux for a fungi eh?
shit was like a couple large pizzas even on one of the garage boxes, and I understood that to be a friend discount bc peeps still pay mad cash for EQ item to this day.
wonder what a fungi is worth on peak p1999 and now?
There was one time Linse pulled me from a near by zone to help him completely ruin someone’s 4th or 5th part of the Coldian Ring quest. He told me he wanted to force the guy to buy the ring off him. . He sure was enterprising. Lol. When I quit I also gave him like 4 bags of prenurfed pumice and a bag of golem metal wands. This was when it cost about 100plat to recharge. I used to use them to outrun Gylen chasing me by pumicing his jboots.
Reminds me how mad jealous I was of everyone's life when I was 12 and still playing EverQuest every day.
I can still remember a tight-knit crew of HS dropouts somewhere in the American SW who were either on disability or workin' dead-end jobs living above a pizza place or something like that. My plan back then was to move to the US and live exactly like them.
If I remember correctly they were in Quintessence Revival which was a pretty cool guild.
wait who were the group of HS dropouts from the SW in QR?
Sounds like skoaldiaks (sp?), but they weren’t QR.
Lefery and I were university dropouts though
I wish I still had my screenshots folder from back then. For QR ppl I think I'd have been KoS to most of them as an x-teamer for most of the time I played, but before I guilded up I did group up with that crew a number of times (would've been very early Luclin maybe). Ironically one of them ended up re-rolling as a an Ogre War and I later saw and talked to them in the PDM feeder guild.
Also, who was that one Ogre War who spent like 5k USD on every bangin' top-of-the-line droppable Kunark/Velious item possible? It was weird as hell seeing someone all decked out in that in the PoP era.
Early Luclin days was back when QR was pretty small and tight. It was mostly a bunch of older working types, and we had almost zero daytime players, other than Ziakas and Baneden (I think, as a student then?). If I ever logged on during those kinds of hours, Ziakas would immediately race around trying to find dragons to kill, even though we only had 4 people online.
damn AIM too would've had a lot of these names but I think you can't even pull it up in 2021
Damn, it was that small then? I might be thinking of KotWR then, but in my memory QR was the bigger light-races non-x-teaming guild of that era with KotWR having barely enough to fill up a raid (I think I remember QR even being able to do SSRA not long after this would've happened). Can't remember their names at all but the guy who eventually re-rolled as the Ogre War was a legit emancipated minor who lived with the others above that restaurant. When he wasn't hunting dragons he was downstairs slinging pizzas. Livin' the dream.
I remember making a lvl 1 ogre + rallos zek diety to have good enough faction to explore kael and found these dudes in there exploiting one of the named mobs by glitching them behind an ice block
instantly when I zoned in a few of them started messaging me demanding to know who my main was and when I got close to them they all got hella spooked, thinking I was there to report them or some shit
In terms of raid capability, QR was definitely ahead of KOTWR and was the top lighty guild. We were behind Pande, Disco and Indignation, and were really small membership size with relatively low playtime, but were fairly well organized and had a really good raid leader (Emuqum). We typically tackled the top end content (Sleepers, SSRA, etc) 1 expansion behind, when the bigger 3 were done farming it. Its possible we had someone fitting that description, but I can't think of who it would be. We grew our numbers towards the last year or so when a lot of the original members started to quit, so it might have been from that time period
Separate names with a comma.
