Holy hell, what an awful movie. I mean, just terrible.
It was extremely bad.
which reminds me that i wanted to rant at some point about how awful vox.com movie reviews are http://www.vox.com/2016/7/26/12280432/star-trek-beyond-review-kirk-krall
Star Trek Beyond was well-received by critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 84% based on 245 reviews
Getting a 7.2 on imdb which isn't abysmal but I'm willing to bet that number is still inflated by stupid fanboys.
i thought it was fine. 6/10 matt damons
Russian hackers ruined it.
I think it was fair for what it was. The good part about this type of movie is that you are able to walk out for 10 minutes and then come back and not feel like you missed anything.
damons are out of 5 GOD
i know that but 2/5 seemed too low and 3/5 too generous and it felt wrong to split a matt damon
I split poor Matt all the time he doesn't mind
It was bad all the way around, and I've loved the new series so far. The sets were awful, I couldn't describe the villains at all besides the fact they were villains that wanted the good guys dead, and quite frankly I couldn't give enough of a shit about anything to even finish the movie. Just an all around stinker.
Hmm. Rotten tomatoes user and expert reviews are rarely both wrong. I guess I will wait until I can watch it over the internets.
I can confirm it was shit. A major part of the plot involved Capt Kirk driving around on a dirt bike to distract the bad guys while their prisoners escaped.
no u r all wrong
it was an acceptable movie
Exec 1: "We need a new director to fill the big shoes of J.J. Abrams who is capable of handling the reins of our epic and historied science-fiction franchise"
Exec 2: "How about that Taiwanese guy who directed some of those lame street racing movies?"
Exec 1: "Has he done anything that was actually good?"
Exec 2: "No"
Exec 1: "Any experience with science fiction?"
Exec 2: "Don't think so"
Exec 1: "Does he even know what Star Trek is?"
Exec 2: "Doubt it, but the U.S.S. Enterprise is basically a flying car. And the different races and factions are kind of like rival gangs when you really think about it."
Exec 1: "That's our guy. Let Duncan Jones know he won't be needed."
yes but i like beastie boys
also star trek proly better than Duncan jones warcraft movie anyway
havent seen it but i feel comfortable saying you're all mistaken
They're probably all correct
But I'm sad to hear his was bad. I liked the last two
