I've got 2 boxes on a network, one box is XP SP2 the other is Win2K SP4. Both boxes are running MSDE SP3. I am having problems looking at the MSDE server on the XP machine. It gives me a "SQL server does not exist or access denied". On the XP machine I have no problems seeing the Win2K server. I have killed almost all of the security settings on the XP machine but still have no luck. I've shared C drive where the database files are kept.

Any ideas? Right now I am grasping at straws and any idea is a good idea.

Look through here and see if you can find anything that helps. As long as you have SP2 off it should be fine. Never used sql on an xp box, but it shouldnt be much different.

*Edit* I said SP2 off, i meant the firewall.

I'm running the latest version of MSDE. I can access the server on the local XP machine, its that I cannot access it from the Remote Win2K machine.
