Got a name but I need to pick one of these suffixes to get 'er done this week.

examples: Doublefine Productions, Riot Games, Retro Studios

Games seems like the straightest option here. The only downside being that if I ever wanted to attach it to non-game or tangentially-related products (like a Unity Store asset for developers), it makes less sense.

I know this is a "who gives a shit - just pick one" thing, but since it's $300 just to file it I want to get it right.

Next step is getting my game on Steam. Then announce/market, then go into early access later this year. Yeehaw.

    Even w/your caveat I'd still go w/games.

    Just my two bits.

They all make it sound like its not one dude making the games.

Btw, now that you are done with your game, are you ready to make art for mine??

    THANKS TZT

You make me music/sfx and I'll make you art. :smitten:

I seriously do need a composer though. That's the big remaining unknown for me seeing this through to early access.

Regarding the "sounds like its not one dude making games" thing - that always struck me as so cheesy. "Studios" doesn't even make sense for a small company (which is likely to just have one singular studio). It all reeks of Trying Too Hard To Appear Professional to me, but I guess there's some merit to it.

Just do drop it completely and stick to one word, like Oprah. Call yourself Discord.

Just buy music / sfx from Unity. There's gobs of high quality content for cheap and its licensed, even if not in a Unity game, you own it when you buy it. (...may wanna double check that ;) )

Unless you are relying on having an original soundtrack that really carries the game (EverQuest) and makes people come back just to listen to those sweet sweet chords.. (BOM bom Bom BOMMM BA DA BOM BOM)

I need those sweet chords bro. I'm gonna find a way. Unity Store and royalty-free is a last-resort backup plan.

I am relying on it to set a mood for sure. I just know I wouldn't have enjoyed Rogue Legacy as much if it didn't have this awesome castle theme:
