Nice article, so far, on SSD tech and Intel's place within it:

been eyeing this tech and it's got a lot of potential to blow the competition out of the water and drive pricing down considerably in the future.

I'm not totally sold on that technology yet. Some of those benchmarks are impressive (2sec Photoshop load time = insane), but I've also seen articles that downplay the speed advantage SSDs have over optical ones. Flash-based drives also die over time, but apparently the Intel ones will last for at least 3 years, which is pretty good.

160gb though? I have 600gb occupied by shit on my home computer.

It's a cool technology but I'll be talking a wait-and-see approach for now.

it's not meant to replace your storage drive yet, they are meant to be OS/App drives for faster load times, in combo with a large standard drive for data storage. Also, from the article, Intel is promising 5 years drive lifetime with 100GBs/day of usage. Seems fine to me. The issue I have right now is price. I think it's worth it, but it's still more of a luxury/high performance price range that the vast majority wont be able to justify...
