interestingly they did not provide pictures of the borked pins

i believe them bc as i said i think i noticed them myself

but it seems like it should be standard policy for them to provide proof of specific dmgs

I always expect the worst from manufacturer RMAs.

If Amazon or Costco don't have it I don't need it.

ill keep that in mind for future purchases/builds

for now im just hoping the CPU is ok / that the old mobo dying didnt fuck the CPU somehow. reading online it sounds like that's supposed to be pretty rare, but is expensive to test (& so kinda pointless)

    fingers crossed yawl

I'm a terrible person for suggesting this but if you bought a new part from Amazon you could swap a bad one in and return it. of course I wouldn't make this a habit because my good standing with Amazon is worth much more to me than a few bucks

rma-fixed'd board arrived yesterday, time for take 2

also, im wondering now if the CPU cooler may have been what bent the mobo pins; it kinda sits awkwardly in the case, very hard to arrange it so that its tubing doesnt put a lot of uneven tension on the CPU socket

maybe i should have sprung for a bigger case

system is mostly together, boots fine, installing windows now

need to switch out 27" monitor for disgusting large hdtv monitor

& need to take graphics card out and take it apart to install its liquid cooler, and got a few minor chassis/case things to put back in (e.g. privacy shield so my psu can take a piss w/o the rest of the system staring at its shame)

but other than those few things we seem to be good to go

i'd like to thank my wallet & the ppl who messed up the oscars & all the neckbeards

hdtv set up & functional as monitor

    absurdity levels are at 90%

only the ssd, gpu liquid cooler, & maybe setting up one of my monitors as a 2ndary remain

but mine only has 2 pins (just peeked inside to make sure i wasnt misremembering)

i think so, guessing it serves the same role

u can see the slot's there too, tho the pin count cant be made out from that angle (well i guess ya can kinda see the 2 pins actually, just barely)

i've never had to use anything but default settings on any recent sata drive so i can't imagine you'd need to muck w/it
