You can disable or uninstall most of the bloatware nowadays, it's actually gotten better and I don't even notice it on my Note9, you just gotta take the time to do it. Unless things have changed Apple locks down their phones too much and ties you into their ecosystem too hard for my taste, but that's just me. I like to heavy customize my phone and drag and drop files to it and shit.

Yeah on my Note 8 I can't even remember if I disabled the AT&T stuff, but regardless I have not noticed it at all... if anything Samsung's stuff has been more annoying (I disabled Bixby button, and get annoyed by some of the Samsung crud I have no intention of using).

I noticed it mostly bc my Samsung tablet couldn't run anything smoothly, so removing all of the bloatware (including a forced Facebook app) was like a 15-step process that involved rooting it and voiding the warranty.

Qualcomm chips aren't very good from my experience. I never had apps chugging or stuttering like that on my old-ass iphone.

Yeah bro, how else you gonna get a 500gb porn collection from the pc to the phone? Idk I guess you can just tube that shit nowadays, but when you keep those files local it's a helluva lot easier to fast forward to the good parts.

And I get the whole dumb it down for the average consumer trend, but I'd rather play EQ than WoW, just like I'd rather use an Android or a PC over an Apple product.

And yeah Bixby fucking sucks. Google assistant works fine thx.

Good old Steve Jobs. He was an awesome dude though, I'll admit that, and honestly Apple products are awesome. I think, at least for a time, they were arrogant and self righteous in their approach to what they thought people wanted and needed from technology. They lost a ton of market share when they went through their "people don't want/need larger smartphone screens" phase, until they realized that yeah people do. Same deal with storage capacity. I don't know, cloud storage may the way, but man I just like having my shit actually on my phone.

I have some apple products (ipads) and I like them. It's not ideological for me really.

Converting to iPhones wouldn't be so bad really, though I like the open-ness of Android much better (despite drawbacks to that).

Going all mac for my computers though, yeah - that's always gonna be a no from me dawg.

I wish they would just keep making iPhone 6s (and 7s? However high it goes before the 5mm jack went away) forever

I have literally never been inconvenienced by my current phone being slow or buggy or whatever and batteries are replaceable. Whatever new phones do that mine doesn't I probably hate it (eg facial recognition)

The only iphone upgrades I’d like to see are true wireless CarPlay, and better battery life. My next one will also be smaller than my current 7+. Big screen is nice to use, but not worth the extra space it takes up in my pocket.

My work stuff is Apple and my personal stuff is not. I prefer the Apple shit by a mile. It’s intuitive and completely retard and idiot proof. I never have to learn how to do anything and I never have problems for any reason. And they hold up for a remarkably long time.

The PC shit is nice because it’s so cheap that it’s basically free. I’m pretty sure the entire supply chain for every PC manufacturer is completely manned by indentured servants using cheap blood minerals from only the most genocidal African warlords. It’s too cheap. But it’s shitty.

I’m not a 17-year old incel virgin playing FPSes and trading 0-day warez anymore, so I don’t care about any of the reasons elitist computer dorks use when they try to knock-down Apple.

Androids are useful if you're more technical, apple can do all the same business stuff though

Got my new Samsung Galaxy S9 yesterday. Activating it was about as easy as possible. Remove sim card from previous phone, add to new phone, done.

Do you guys have any cool launchers or icon packs you use to make your shit look cool?

You can set the Bixby button to require double tap on the Bixby screen, if it isnt already. It can be very annoying. The diction feature is quite handy to have on a real button though, and using simple commands such as "flashlight on" if you are wearing gloves. Much better than some flaky voice activation in my experience.

one thing I don't like about my iphone is that sometimes wiggling it when it's plugged into an aux cord causes it to pause whatever audio and summon Siri(/voice control after I disabled Siri)

I have a note 9 for personal and s9 for work. The biggest difference in old vs new is camera and battery. I had an s7 / note 3 and the note 3 ofc had a 20 minute battery and a dogshit camera, especially in low light. Even 7 to 9 pretty big camera upgrade but the overall "speed" has been irrelevant for quite a while.
