on game 5 where i can't get past 10 weeks or so. (middle difficulty)

i feel dumb. i know i need to reduce stress through other ways other than paying in town but i can't figure out how besides literally chain stunning to delay combat and using skills to reduce the stress.

i dont really wanna google because i feel like if i read a strategy guide, the game will get easy.

anyways, hi tzt. i miss you.

my home computer has been down and i'm so overworked i didn't fix it or replace it until about a month ago. y

for some reason tzt just doesnt feel right on my phone.

at my company, they're very focused on technology innovating their industry. the CEO believes if you don't have a mobile solution, you will fall behind.

i dont consider opening chrome and logging into tzt as a mobile solution.

i feel this is a short coming of utumno's age, out of touchness with reality and declining cognitive ability

i also feel it is what makes tzt unique and the reason why there has never been mass adoption to another platform

that, or because nobody cares as much as utumno

anyways, how do i destress 2 the max in darkest dungeon

    this game rules

kill the stress-inflicting mobs first, don't do missions that outlevel your characters, keep torch maxed, and obv don't get to death's door

You can't prevent it altogether, but it's manageable. Like ur stressful office job. Some of the characters (crusader, jester off the top of my head) have abilities that can reduce stress.

if your high-stress characters are low level & have bad quirks: just trash them and replace.

opening chrome and logging in to TZT is for chumps.

you log in once via chrome, then create a shortcut, and it just looks like an app for the rest of your life and you never have to log in again.

website shortcuts are literally indistinguishable from mobile apps if the site is designed for mobile.

Just open the menu (after you've logged in) and "Add to Homescreen" (at least that's how it is on my android phone, I'm sure iPhones have their equivalent)

abandoning your PTSD-afflicted military veterans is the American way

when you see DD as a Stress Management Simulation instead of an RPG, it actually becomes less stressful to play

I am now only 2 years behind TZT.

Why do I love these repetitive boring dungeons? I have no idea what is compelling about this game - maybe the high stakes adds to the immersion?

I read strategy guides, which probably made it less fun, but I was too afraid of losing my boy Renault to risk it.

I think the sound and atmosphere of the game is great.

The stress (yours, not your characters) is also just enough to make you give a shit about keeping your dudes alive. With no actual plot you end up caring for your chars because you get so invested into building them up and keeping them around.

Pretty gr8 execution all around on that game. Was a pleasant surprise.

agree that the atmosphere rules + the brutal difficulty level keeps you playing

Harper pls try Slay the Spire at some point. It's babby-friendly.

    yes

downside: your characters get negative sanity traits when they level up, too

and when they die, they're fuckin dead. You have to work for it to make sure that doesn't happen.

i like it but i'm in the honeymoon phase where i've gotten to know the mechanics but not well enough to break the game and stop enjoying it.

I generally hate repetitive grind incentives, but because I fail so often in darkest dungeon, I don't mind doing similar levels over and over as I'm continuously learning.

if you're into turn based games, i think you'd like it.

i ignored every turn based game until last year when I forced myself to play divinity 2. Even then, I hated the first 4 or 5 hours. Darkest Dungeon is similar in that you'd likely have to dump a few hours into it before enjoying.

    tldr: i recommend

what are some other turn based games I might like?

i liked xcom2 and dos2. I lost interest in pillars of eternity. I hated persona5 and valkyrie chronicles.

I will try slay the spire
