Of course it would probably be brief, awkward and lackluster because he'd be all tired from being coked up the night before.

Blizzard provided some more info on the classic WoW box recently.

    https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/classic-content-plan/120346
    https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/everything-we-definitively-know-about-classic/25299

TLDR: they'll be releasing the content in phases (i.e., it will launch with just Molten Core and Maraudon) but the gameplay will be based on patch 1.12 (the last one before Burning Crusade). This is good because the class balance was in a much better state by then.

They specifically mention that they're still not sure how they're going to handle PvP content. Hopefully they release battlegrounds on launch and update the vanilla honor system to something less lame.

I never raided in WoW besides doing one Molten Core run which bored me to death. Were any of them actually fun?

No. None of them were fun.

I hated raiding in EQ, too, but I liked it better than I did in WoW. In WoW I just followed instructions from mods while I spaced out.

The 5-man dungeons in WoW could be fun, though. Even with mods, they could sometimes be challenging. We wiped out a lot, like A LOT, doing them (although that was mostly in expansions). Of course, part of that is because Harper only has fun if he's keeping your entire group in a constant state of near-death. Maybe all of it is due to that. I don't know. But we will have Harper for Classic WoW, so it will be the same thing.

Weird. I found Molten Core and Blackwing Lair to be fun.

I was MT for my guild that was doing MC, and I felt that each fight had it's own set of challenges. Maybe it was easy if you were in a more accomplished guild, but my guild was real casual and it took us a long time to beat MC. Same deal for BWL except I was in a different guild as a DPS warrior. I also really thought the zones themselves and the mobs within them were pretty cool. I guess AQ20/AQ40 weren't bad either but after that I never really enjoyed raiding, I mostly just played to PvP after that, especially because you could relatively easy get decent gear for PvP, and DPS warriors wrecked most of the time especially later in expansions.

I'm still planning on playing Mangler. I don't care about experiencing all of EQ before Pantheon, I just want to get a little fix of the old classic stuff I liked best, Classic, Kunark, Velious, and maybe some of the later stuff.

I had a lot of fun doing the 5-man dungeons in vanilla. My neckbeard was so thick that I ran the first group on the server to do Stratholme, which was pretty cool because it was hard as hell with everyone wearing walmart gear. I remember enjoying Maraudon and Gnomeregan too.

I'll probably pass on the raids then and have to pvp balding basement dwellers wearing purple/orange gear. That'll be something. I don't think I'll have the free time to do both raiding and pvp stuff, anyway.

I’ll say I’m playing, but never download the game. Kors will quit the first time a rogue ganks him. Red will make better friends within two days and never talk to us. And Searyx will play by himself and casually troll some ginger until he commits suicide.

I’ll be surprised if anything comes from it, but we can talk about it in the meantime.

This will be me for at least the first two weeks of release.

After that initial launch I will remember that I cant stand most of tzt and all of the bitching and shitty players that come with it. Soak up those first few day pals because I will help with whatever you need.

I feel like that game is more frustratingly competitive and toxic than fun.

+ u spend like ~95% of your playtime running around looting shit (that you don't actually need bc u die in half a second anyway)

once you get better in apex it's pretty different. you drop in hot zones and you get into combat immediately after getting a gun. you typically hunt people down to take what they've collected vs running around trying to loot shit on your own. it's a pretty typical BR but they've gotten rid of a lot of the boring elements. I've had wins in less than 15 minutes with 20-25 kills between my squad where we're just on the hunt constantly. comparatively, you actually live longer than most BR games (higher hp/armor values and tons of healing capabilities), and can trace most of your deaths back to your own mistakes, very few insta/quickgib moments. there's a learning curve you have to get through.

agreed on the TZT guilds. always fun in theory but never pans out. low on numbers to begin, not much in the way of leadership/recruiting outside etc, and people's initial interest/nostalgia fizzles quickly and people peace out. if anyone wants to join in, I will be playing on Selo server with another friend, reliably. our typical playtimes will be 6-7pm PST to 9-10pm PST when we're able to hop on, weekends being fairly random. monk and shaman. zero interest in trying to make a guild though, we'll join one later.

    don't forget <Revolutionary Alliance of Unpopular Men> https://soranews24.com/2019/02/11/anti-valentines-day-protest-march-held-in-tokyo-by-revolutionary-alliance-of-unpopular-men【vid】/

I think <Eighties Porsche> is excellent as well though

I don't really care about end-game content in WoW. Running some of the low-mid level battlegrounds and dungeons with friends would be fun for me, though - especially on a new server that's not loaded with twinks yet. I'm going to play it regardless of what people here choose to do.

And yeah I know there's a learning curve with Apex. I managed to win two matches, but I just don't think it's that fun (my girlfriend likes it a lot more than I do). I'm old now and I find it stressful even when I'm winning.

I just wanna do UBRS/LBRS. 10 man UBRS (15 on initial release) is a pretty solid dungeon/raid.
