I can't remember the thread it was in and I'm lazy so I'm starting a new one. I'm nearing the end of Book 4. I think one or two of you said after this it won't be worth it finishing the series right? Just double-checking... will probably finish in the next day or two and if consensus is that the series goes to shit, I'll just read wikipedia summaries or some shit to figure out how it plays out. p.s. so far I'd say 2nd book (esp. all the stuff when he first starts portal travelling w/Eddie) and 4th book (one big long flashback to Roland's time as a gunslinging teenager) have been best. I'm real close to the end and I'm already sad because Steven King is doing that nice writer's trick of keeping the plot upbeat and hopeful despite you knowing as a reader, that only Roland makes it out alive (probably - don't tell me if I'm wrong). Also his descriptions of Rhea the Witch are so gnarly I want to gag every time I think about it too much.
