eq was 99% gear and rng, 1% skill

no one should pretend they were "elite" pvpers. most of your just had less free time or better luck

the best pvpers were the ones who took the opportunities to gank unprepared pversat half mana

It's the year 3030, and here at the Tallon Zek Bank of Time, we find ourselves reflecting, finding out that, in fact, we came back.

    We were always coming back

Luring players into shitty situations was the only way to add any kind of skill. Gear was everything though...

    I agree with this statement.

Hey Amuk, remember that time Graef AE'd an entire group in HS? That was great.

Wow.. I hadn't been on here in Ages... but I had to respond to this!

Linse got 2 bags full of Prenurf Golem wands and 4 bag fulls of prenurf egg pumice on my last days of EQ before I sold my account in the early days of Luclin. He promised to use them to grief players everywhere. LOL! Back in the day when I realized you could recharge items, I bought every pre-nerfed egg pumice I could get my hands on and camped bags full of golem wands. I used them to outrun Gylen when he'd come after me by chain nullifying his jboots. LoL!

Dang, I miss the old TZ pvp days. Some of the most fun I had was pvp'ing with Necanta and Kirae, and other Shadoewatch. Before crossteaming was the norm and gear wasn't so ridiculously important.

Someone mentioned this wizard and the name is nagging my brain.
"Wizard? The guy that won the wizard botb, some erudite mofo, memory blurry on that one. Maybe Begins with a H."

This brought back a memory, but I still can't recall the wizards name. It did start with an H. I just remember him killing one of my guilds (Shadoewatch) necromancers, and I came in and killed him when I was like level 56-57 and he was 60. I just remember getting right in range and casting a rain on him while he started his sunfire cast, and I stepped out of range so his sunfire didn't go off. Killed him that way with rains which he didn't move out of (we were in tunnels). Good times.

I should dig up some of my killshots, I think I still have them. I've got Gylen, Lightadam, Darkoan, although I'm pretty sure the Gylen one wasn't solo.

The necro that he killed was me (Rayn) waaay back in the day. I remember that though I'm also drawing a complete blank on his name and it's killing me.

    Hanmyong.

    Bam.

Beat me to it. I remembered Hanmyong last night. The necro name came back too, but I thought the necro was Kithana? Same person? It's been so long, and my old brain is seriously foggy. I wish I had better memories of some of those pvp battles because it was fun in a way no other pvp has been since.

Nah this was way back when I first got into Shadoewatch and it was for sure me as Rayn.

It's funny how we remember only a select few of the PVP events that happened during our span on the server as a whole, but I do remember this one really clearly.

Well honestly that's freaking cool that at least one person remembers me killing Hanmyong ha. Human memory seems to work like that, some memories really stick while others fade.

I have a pretty vivid memory of killing a Panda ranger solo once in plane of storms. Think maybe Shaod? It was funny because most of PDM left me alone and he came after me. I remember thinking I just gotta get him to under 50% and manaburn, got off a shadowstep with maybe 10% health left, was able to get manaburn off before he finished me off. There was a DE watching, maybe SK Marcorsha or something like that?

I never really liked the big battles, I liked the 1v1 battles, or pairing up with another person to pvp. Shadoewatch was fun because we'd form little groups and go around killing lighties.

I also have pretty good memories of killing people around level 20 in Crushbone to get gear for myself and for Ibaq at the time lol. I'd go there with just a robe on and find melees back in the day when root was really good. It was such great fun pissing people off taking their best piece of gear.
