Canadian women's soccer team is also over performing because most of its players have come up through US scholarships.

Hot takes I have no appreciation for:

    1) Cheering Durant's injury ignited a fire in the Warriors. Right. The Warriors needed extra motivation to not be eliminated in the NBA Finals.

    2) Durant was pressured to play in the Finals. Durant is a grown man. Most players would have played with that injury. He's not some fringe player who would risk his career if he didn't succumb to peer pressure. Injuries happen.

    3) Durant proved his HEART AND SOUL in game 5. Please. People play with worse injuries in rec league, and his money is guaranteed regardless. Looney proved his heart and soul. Durant did what eveyr other player with a calf boo boo would have done, then had some bad luck.

    4) Nick Nurse's timeout was the worst thing in the entire history of basketball. Momentum is probably a thing, and timeouts likely have a minor impact on it. But there is no reason to think that the timeout is the primary reason Toronto proceeded to execute with the clumsiness and awkwardness of Agrul trying to talk to a woman.

    5) Golden State is going to win the series for Durant. See point #1.

I also have a small amount of money on Klay for Finals MVP at +1700. Toronto is mostly likely going to win, but I think Klay has been the best player on the court for GS so far.

Yes, Curry has higher counting stats (32.4/5.6/5.8) compared to Klay (25.0/4.8/3.0). But Curry's D has been a complete joke and his scoring (like Kawhi's) has been propped up by all these bullshit touch fouls that give him extra free throws he didn't earn. Klay, on the other hand, has an eFG of 65.8%. That's impossible.

Might as well put down an insignificant amount of money at 17-1.

I wouldn't bet on MVP. That just seems like a shot in the dark. All it takes is for a player to have an average series with an amazing final game to skew the results. Looney could win it if he went off in game 7 and the announcers rave about it.

idk I think that's a solid bet considering the odds

GS winning the series certainly isn't a reach at this point, and Klay has arguably been better in this series than Curry.

Basically, GS would need to win the series (I'd give them 40-45% odds) and Klay would need to outplay Curry for the final two games (I'd say that's also close to 50%).

It's just a fun bet for good times. Finals MVP is a sucker bet, because there is absolutely nothing to base value on.

However, I will say that the average person has no idea what to base value on with any bet. Most people are no better off trying to find vulnerabilities in point spreads or money lines (just who will win) than they are picking a Finals MVP.

But yeah, like Searyx said - give GS a 20% chance to win, and Klay a 1 in 3 chance to win Finals MVP, and there's value in 17 to 1 odds. But I really have no idea. It's just guessing.

I mean to get 17:1 payoff, a shot in the dark is pretty much a requirement right?

Also GS winning the series is definitely a reach. Klay has already played like god all series, and Raptors (where everyone is a goddamned shooter) were fucking awful in game 5 and shot 25% from 3 (lol), and they hand 11 minutes of help from Durant (3 of 3 from 3 lol), and barely fucking won... playing Steph/Klay 40 mins each.

Our trash-ass bench *might* become not trash magically for 2 games in a row, so you can't say it's impossible, but it's a real fucking reach. Fivethirtyeight gives us 17% chance... and I think that's probably accurate.

It sucks to see this Warrior team being dismantled by injuries. Especially since I am now fearful it will be the catalyst that keeps this team together.

How can you be complaining? The refs just gave the game to GS unless they REALLY fuck it up. The Raps are almost in the bonus already They can't play D the rest of the game.

I was listening on the radio stuck on the road. My fuck everything was a belated Thompson going down thing. He's probably in the locker room fighting people so he can get back out there.
