GS also just let a 90 year old Wade drop 25 on us, including the game winner.
Study Links Clinical Depression To Getting Dunked On
BOSTON—Identifying a significant factor contributing to the development of the mental health disorder, researchers from Harvard Medical School published a groundbreaking study Thursday that reportedly links clinical depression to getting dunked on. “Over our five years of observations, we consistently found that test subjects exhibited low self-esteem, despair, and lost interest in normal activities after being dunked on with a devastating monster jam,” said head researcher Randolph Murray, adding that study participants were at far higher risk of experiencing mood swings, social isolation, and the inability to concentrate on tasks when the dunking party then swung from the rim above them and screamed “This is my house.” “These findings apply to individuals from every demographic group, all of whom displayed behaviors such as angry outbursts and persistent feelings of sadness after getting totally schooled with a windmill, double-pump, reverse, or tomahawk jam. Furthermore, when a participant was dunked on following a half-court alley-oop pass, we observed a sharp increase in the expression of suicidal thoughts.” The study follows similar research published earlier this year by a team from UCLA, which found an increased incidence of depressed mood and self-medication among test subjects who get absolutely lit up by a linebacker.
There's probably some truth to that. I bet Patrick Ewing is still recovering from being dunked on by both Pippen and Jordan.
Shitty quality video, but it's the best disrespect-dunk ever. Bonus points for telling Spike Lee to shut up and sit down.
Harden put up another ridiculous statline the other night: 58 points with 10 assists.
Milwaukee gave Eric Bledsoe a $70M contract for some reason. That seems like an overpay to me, but I'm too lazy to go look at their cap situation.
Uhhh, yeah. Wow. I was sure the Bucks were headed for great things, but this makes me think otherwise.
I guess current buzz likes that deal, but it seems like a lot to me. Granted, I've not watched a lot of Bucks games, maybe he's better than I give him credit for.
I mean he's pretty solid but I'd have tried for 12-15M instead of 17.5. They're not gonna have any cap room for a while unless they plan on letting Mirotic or Middleton walk.
I guess it's hard to argue with rewarding your current guys when your team has the best record in the league.
I’m ok with it. He’s getting paid like a 3rd or 4th option, and that’s what he is. They are going to have to go over the cap go sign all their guys, anyway. So Bledsoe is just being paid in dead cap money
The Bucks have a deep roster. This is not 2009 Cleveland. In a world where GS didn’t exist, Milwaukee would be a title favourite for years to come. We are slanted thinking everyone needs 11 hall-of-famers on their team. Middleton is a legit all-star and perfect second fiddle. I don’t think they are reaching the Finals because Giannis is still too young, but if he leaves Milwaukee I will be surprised.
Trae Young is on fire lately. Look at the score in the 4OT chi-atl shot-chuckers ball.
LeBron is lucky fucking Brandon Ingram is activating playoff mode.
Pau to the Bucks. Who’s ready for the Marc va Pau Gasoline ECF?
Holy fuck that chi/ATL score made me do a double take.
I might be wrong on that contract - some people think it was a steal for Milwaukee. I pay no attention to that team aside from Giannis, so whatever.
Trae Young is gonna be fine for Atlanta. I think this is a rare situation where the draft trade ends up being win-win for both teams.
So who wins a Toronto-Milwaukee ECF? I'd be surprised if we see anything else. Philly has a shot, but I think they're a dark horse candidate at best.
Also, who do you guys think gets the 8th seed in the west?
Close game w/76ers tonight, GS pulls out the win. Lakers about to choke against the Suns too.
A good evening.
Lolz, Lakers are finished. What a terrible decision LeBron and the Lakers made.
Lebron "That's when I knew I was the greatest of all time" James just needs to reactivate PLAYOFF MODE.
If only the FAKE NEWS hadn't damaged their team chemistry, they'd be shooting the lights out at the Staples Center with this well-constructed roster. http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/...de-talks-fake-news/1ffw4cbu7p8kq1ryh9phe6clgs
I'm loving this. It's the shitshow we all wanted when this meme team was announced. The LA crowd even chanted "We want Kobe" at Lebron during that Clippers game.
While it is a colossal waste of one of the last fringe-prime years of Lebron's career, I don't really give a shit. He chose this. Though I do appreciate that we're getting Space Jam 2 out of it and don't blame him for not wanting to live in fucking Cleveland.
I go back and forth on the lakers situation... I mean I generally think Magic and general Lakers management are just fucking this all up (after a promising start too, with getting rid of old/bad contracts), so I get irritated that it gets played out as a big LeBron choke. On the other hand, he willingly came into this shitshow and has totally encouraged the LeBron-as-Superman mythology, so it's hard to feel too bad for him too.
People always talked about how he carried shitty Cavs teams to the finals but those "shitty" teams had Kyrie/Love, and at least some legit shooters like Korver or George Hill. Now he's got the worst shooters in the NBA as a supporting cast, not sure what people really expected from the guy lol
That article is funny too, I like how Jeanie wants them to steady course and ignore the fake news, so they can make a playoff push. I mean, I guess that's still mathematically possible, but not exactly realistic. It looks like 538 gives them a 2% chance at the moment. Feels like a longer shot than that to me.
As an outsider, what happened with the Lakers? I thought they had that Ball kid who was the next coming of something or other and that they scooped up a bunch of mini-Balls as well. Was it just a bad mix with Lebron or were they busts or what? I remember when Kobe started like his 2nd game or something and went like 0-17 early and the crowd was chanting "Eddie, Eddie" for Eddie Jones. Ahh memories.
Blaming the media is the best shot she has at helping that team come together this season, but yeah... it's not going to work. Lebron "That's when I knew I was the greatest of all time" James plays in the big boy conference now where it's not so easy to carry mediocre teams into the playoffs.
They're going to fire Walton after this season. What should happen is Magic and Pelinka getting canned for creating this mess.
Ball was highly ranked in his draft class, but not even 1st place... so his hype was always a bit ridiculous because of his loudmouth joke of a dad. That said, even though Lonzo Ball is a legitimately terrible shooter, his defense and other strengths probably could have kept them in the playoffs picture - Lakers have been even worse since he went out with injury.
The balls were too small pal. There was a lot of hype about them being big.
Boston is almost as much of a circus as LA is atm. I didn't expect that, but I guess it's what happens Kyrie Irving "leads" the team. I already thought he was an idiot after his Flat Earth bullshit, but this season he's acting like a more toxic version of big brother Lebron.
They both love playing the "THESE YOUNG GUYS..." card and alienating the locker room. Natural leaders.
I can forgive LeBruh more than Irving for that shit. At least Bron is a living legend.... Kyrie is just a really skilled/talented flat earther who has a knack for saying the stupidest shit possible.
Jeanie's insinuation that bad press + morale is responsible for the current shitshow is probably actually applicable to the Celtics.
