Excellent trade for Dallas. They are now going to have $30-$40 million in cap space and can actually build a team around their two stars.

He actually knew he was being traded before the game and asked to play anyway. Classy move from him.

lol @ Lebron's drunk instagram post about this. Maybe save that moral outrage for when you run half of your team and head coach out of town, buddy.

Not unhappy to see Barnes go. I don't think any fans ever hated him (despite being grossly overpaid) as he was a total professional and worked hard to improve within his limitations.

As you said, this is a smart move for Dallas because it takes his $25M player option off the books next season and they can use that money on someone else now.

Does she give big Boban blowjobs standing up?

    Boban for your knee health.

    Definitely.

Also I remember a few weeks back when Sear kept saying how dogshit their starting lineup was and that Cuban really should make some moves to build around Doncic.

He's literally the last man standing now Lol!

I think LeBron’s tweet is weird. “AD is a traitor” isn’t a very popular take outside NO. I’ve heard it literally zero times in the media or from friends.

Kawhi was different because he was healthy and sat out his contract on a winning team because he has a stupid uncle. AD still wants to play.

I really have little sympathy for players (the stars, anyway) usually. Oh no, Harrison Barnes has to go make $25m being mediocre at basketball in another city. John Wall gets to tear his Achilles having sex on the bannister, or whatever stupid shit he was doing, and will get paid like $30m for his recovery. Basketball players are not the slave labour martyrs they sometimes make themselves out to be. They have more power than the team owners, arguably.

I feel bad sometimes, but I care more about fans who are asked to invest years of income/emotion in a team. The lack of stability among teams these days is bad for fans, and could have long lasting effects down the road if it gets worse. Who wants to support their team through a “rebuild” only to have stars demand a trade two years later because there aren’t enough all-stars on their team?

There was a surprising amount of "COLD BLOODED + DID HIM DIRTY" outrage over the Barnes trade, despite that he knew he was getting traded already and the owners can't do anything about Woj making it public the second the trade request arrives at the league office.

We didn't do Barnes dirty at all. He was the runt of the GSW starting lineup coming off a massive finals choke, and we gave him a fucking $100M contract + made him the go-to guy here for two years. I'm sure he'll be just fine making his $25M next year and playing for a team that has more realistic playoff aspirations this season than Dallas does.

Yeah the shit about Mavs doing him wrong is flat out stupid - I read Barnes ciao-and-thanks message and he doesn't seem the least bit bitter towards them at all. I always assume there's like 10 moles in the league office and shit leaks from there.

Yeah, he’s probably happy to get to go play on a team trying to win.

The Bucks just turned two pure garbage players into Nikola Mirotic somehow.

I would love to see them come out of the East with their 1-star, 14 roleplayers team.

That's great. I'm enjoying this arms race between the top East teams.

We can probably pencil out Boston if they don't make any moves. The other three teams just look better than them at this point.

Mirotic is fucking great for them, they basically gave up jack shit for this. What a scoop.

    Boston definitely fucked now lol

Marc Gasol to the Raptors lol.

Boston does look fucked, even if they are better than their record suggests.

Is that a big upgrade for them? Valanciiouisniosinonas seemed pretty good, too.

I'd give Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Miami 0.01% odds of making it past the first round of the playoffs in the East.

Gasol can shoot and pass, and doesn’t need the ball in the post to be effective. It’s a small upgrade, but a meaningful one.

What’s funny is that as much as these teams are loading up on talent, none of them have a hope in hell of even touching GS. Especially if GS snap up Kanter so that nobody can bully them.

It's probably just exciting for teams in the East to have a non LeBron team come out on top. And all it took was LeBron taking himself out of the picture!

The fun part of the all-star game is going to be see Durant go against Curry again.

Durant obliterating that tiny subhuman Curry at the end of last year’s game was my favourite all-star game moment:

LeGM picking Durant and Anthony Davis and basically every upcoming free agent for his team was probably more entertaining than the all-star game itself will be tbh lol

a rare feel-good moment for the meme dream team

they set the franchise record for threes (22) in a game despite being among the worst 3P shooting teams in the league

more irony: San Antonio is currently #1 for 3P% despite Gregg Popovich going on record with his disdain of shooting them
