    Just announced.

Pretty excited. Toronto should be hosting a minimum of 3 games in group stages and would more than likely be the only Canadian city to host anything beyond group stages.

The stadium in Toronto is literally a 10 minute drive down the street. I'm super stoked.

Only World Cup calibre game I've ever seen was the U20 FIFA World Cup where I got to see Aguero play.

I'm sure that most of the elim rounds will be played in the states but it's still awesome. Also, FIFA will probably up the size to 48 teams by then and might introduce a triple berth for the USA, Canada and Mexico.

    Futbol pals.

    Fuck yes.

Closest city to me is Charlotte or Atlanta and since Atlanta has an MLS team that is well supported + built a sick new stadium last year I’m sure they will be getting some matches

23 stadiums in the US lineup of hosting stadiums IIRC. Should be pretty wide spread across the country.

I think they are saying it will end up being 10 from the US, 3 from Canada, 3 from Mexico.

LA, San Fran, Seattle, Dallas, NY, and DC are pretty much guaranteed. Apparently Chicago declined to host.

To quote outside the lines "while we want to believe this is the world coming together holding hands like a coke comercial: lets get down to what really matters $$$" Apparently the "North American" bid guaranteed over double in profit(11-12 billion) which was over double anyone else could fantasy promise.

I only can try to comprehend international soccer corruption as an equivlent as to how we american view football and brain injury/diseases.

I’m under no illusions that FIFA isn’t a corrupt organization. The fact that Russia is hosting the tournament this year and Qatar is hosting it in 4 years with venues built on death and slavery is testament to that.

Actually it’s better that the US is involved and hosting it rather than using it as a prize for dictators and autocracies or going to a poor country that can’t afford it to the detriment of its citizens.

It’s still a legitimate tournament and corruption doesn’t translate into successful teams. Russia is the worst ranked team in the tournament this year despite having a known state-sponsored doping program. Even if they make it out of the group stage because they gave themselves Egypt and Saudi Arabia as opponents they will get slaughtered.

It wasn't just that it was also the risk assessment which had a lot more issues in Morocco than it did in NA, and no I don't mean terrorists. This is always all about money. No one that loves the sport thinks anything other than that when it comes to FIFA.

That said, these fucks will still get my money for as many games as I can get to because:

as i said the only way i can comprehend accepting this level of corruption is how the rest of the world looks at the USA giving each other repeated brain injurys in football

I love Mo Salah and I don’t doubt they can beat Russia, but I have a feeling that it’s not going to go their way. We’re not even sure how he’s going to do with his shoulder injury. For all we know Putin paid Sergio Ramos to try to take him out in the Champions League final

Do you guys think corruption level is down from that whole Blatter incident a few years ago or was that just some theater that has no lasting effect?

Organizations like FIFA will always have various levels of corruption as long as humans are involved.

We need robot overlords to run our sports leagues.
