wish jim would have stuck with them.
Governed by Contagions sounds just like their stuff from 15-20 years ago to me, so that's cool. I didn't even know they did another reunion.
Rly liked them during high school but I have a hard time listening to their screamy-wall-of-noise songs now unless I'm working out.
I've only heard the single, like sear mentioned not much change from their past stuff other than I don't find it as gripping. Don't know if that's a reflection of them being stagnant versus me being old and out of touch
I've been listening to a ton of ATDI's first two albums for the last week or so by sheer coincidence and didn't even know this album had happened
I think the writing and composition are reminiscent but the production on that single is definitely different and I don't like it as much--feels kinda overproduced and it takes away the rawness. I imagine live you wouldn't feel that, though.
agree with above. definitely has that ATDI feel but more polished/produced. unfortunately for me i think the album will ultimately be forgettable.
relationship (and their earlier works) definitely had a more energetic vibe / punk vibe.
on the positive side i actually get to see them live this coming week in SF.
Not particularly impressed with the album. Unlikely to listen to any of it in the future with any regularity.
When the first single came out it was p cool, but before the first listen was over I couldn't help but poke fun at the silliness of the song. Definitely sounds far more produced and strong dislike. Surprised they did that tbh.
kili speaking my language in regards to the new atdi
