I don't know if they are setting it at the green briar resort in WV(IE for those who font know its super luxury resort less than an hour by plane to their private airport which was where the super nuclear bunker housing the entire us government was) now a tourist attraction and hosts a yearly PGA event.

AS someone who had what I call the purgatory of their life 2-3 yrs spent in WV, i can tell you that's where its set. mothmanland is parkersburg, other screenshots are several from capitol Charleston. (on the plus side it is a city that is scaled for a game you can literallly walk the longest transverse in under 2 hours.

Is it an MMO type game this time around? Or will it have a solid single player experience as per normal? Also I love Fallout in theory and in practice never play past the first few hours. I just am so hungry for an RPG that I end up in Fallout land. Where is the RIOT RPG damn it ?

I don't care, this is literally my escape mechanic train running into the worst time of my life train head on, stuck in wv bc of bitch mentioned in nsfw thread sacrificing for relationship and used it as escape, when got sick and lost ability to walk my months spent in hospital and elderly home for rehab was cd of fallout 1&2&tactics to occupy my time on a kosher diet with a 15" box tv with 14 channels. This is like life twisting the knife.

Bethesda needs to stop making shallow MMOs out of their RPGs and focus on making them better. Previous Fall Out was the first one I got too bored to finish. They are getting way too similar, and the engine they keep re-using for both Elder Scrolls and Fall Out is pretty crufty. If they insist on maintaining their own engine, they should have lured over some talent from Id when they bought them. Imagine Skyrim or Fall Out on an engine that actually has smooth game play. I would throw money at that game.

I've mostly given up on Bethesda. CD project red and obsidian and harebrained are where it's at now.

didn't Bethesda use a ID engine for dishonored 2? i still haven't finished that game because even on easy i try ocd style to make sure i get low chaos BC i want the happiest outcome for such a dark setting.

Low chaos is easy to do, you just have to use non lethal measures. Going undetected is what is a pain in the ass

other than a sleep dart did i miss how you can do a non-lethal attack once detected?

Stun mines, howler darts, throwing chloroform bottles. I think there are a couple abilities like possession that can help too. Also just running away and planning a new route if you’re not worried about being detected for the achievement.

It’s just a lot more difficult if you’re going for non-lethal, no detection, hiding all the unconscious bodies, etc

I mean I'll happily try it if it gets good reviews, but my expectations are just low because Fallout4 was just meh, and Fallout 3's story was terribad. They've definitely been going downhill for a while and I don't trust them to turn it around. Fallout NV was fantastic but that was because of Obsidian game design.

I swear all they've done in recent years is re-release the corpse of Skyrim to every possible platform known to man, at least they've got a sense of humor about it (they released a Skyrim voice-game to Alexa recently Lol!)

DayZ style gameplay could obviously be done well, but I have a feeling Bethesda is going to greatly pussify it or fuck it up somehow.

Considering that Bethesda is owned by a holding company (ZeniMax), that last time I looked only had a bunch of lawyers + Trump offspring on the board, I'm not expecting anything but shallow money grabs.

“Columbus Nova acquires Sony Online Entertainment.” Alongside the move, the company said it would be changing its name to Daybreak.

Bethesda is making the best games right now (That has multiple AAA titles)

    The Evil Within series
    Dishonored
    Doom
    Wolfenstein
    Elderscrolls
    Fallout
    Prey

I have to beat every dishonored with unseen/clean hands

Actually Velox makes a good point about Bethesda, the brand is used a lot by ZeniMax. It's been a while since I looked into who is actually doing these games.

It looks like OG Bethesda is the Maryland developer that did Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3/4, Skyrim, etc. That's mostly the one I think of as Bethesda.

Bethesda Game Studios Austin (formerly BattleCry Studios) is in Texas, they did Doom (which was good). They're the ones doing Fallout 76.

Dishonored is great, that one was done by Arkane Studios - who also did BioShock2, Arx Fatalis, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which were all p cool games too.

Shit gets confusing. I tend to put my faith in specific dev teams vs. publishers.

Once the bean counters are in charge, all bets are off imo, my expectations of anything ZeniMax-owned are pretty low. Arkane did amazingly innovative work before selling out. Give me more of games like Arx Fatalis or Dark Messiah 2 pls. Nothing since ZeniMax bought them has really attracted me.

Id software was already in decline, but I will never forgive ZeniMax for trying to turn Quake into a MOBA/Overwatch. Copying a popular trend probably seemed like a good business move, but it rarely turns out well, especially not with a crap budget.
