Has anyone ever watched this show? It's on Netflix and it's pretty hilarious. Easily best movie/TV Thang relating to video games

I would use the Everquest Grouping Equation to figure out if you would both gain experience together in a relationship/group

1/2X(your level/age)+1

General Discussion / Re: Google Inbox - Anyone using it?
« on: November 04, 2014, 08:40:16 PM »
well i just got invited into it. It looks like it was designed to basically make managing your email and getting it out of the huge inbox for you
so you can easily file shit away and snooze and remind yourself of certain emails automatically. It incorporates everything google related. so when i purchase something it has a blurb in there about what i paid and how much it cost and yada yada. if i order tickets it keeps that relevant and throws up info relating to that email that might not be included in it. such as travel time or other things that might matter. but mostly it just seems to keep your inbox completely free of clutter. I actually really dig it.

looks like any other game nowadays. run down a little hallway w/ nice graphics.

i can see the simplicity of this (bird-frying aside) being much more cost effective than setting up a wad of solar cells (which would be more expensive, need a lot of wiring, more maintenence, etc. vs just a bunch of mirrors.)

Conventional solar PV is actually a lot less maintenance. The panels themselves are projected to produce power after 50 years. The primary weak point in the system is the delicate wiring and devices used to convert DC power into AC.
Whereas with solar heat generation, you are operating an entire turbine steam generation plant which is very dangerous and requires constant maintenance.

General Discussion / Re: Reduce your monthly bills
« on: July 24, 2014, 06:09:38 PM »
you guys ought to write up a plan of action for when calling your service providers. Like what to say, what not to say. I pay $300 a month for 4 cell phone lines. $60 a month for 3mbit/s internet service. It fucking sucks. Oh and also my home doesn't receive any cell phone service at all.

General Discussion / Re: Solar Panel Roads
« on: May 24, 2014, 06:41:58 PM »
I doubt there is a particular type of glass that solar panels require. as for the lifespan of solar panels, even chinese brands offer 20 year warranties that protects you if a panel drops below 80% of the wattage on its nameplate. Many of the early panels that went up decades ago are still going, so i dont see why modern improved panels would be any different.

As for solar roadways? That whole idea is a joke. When every building and parking lot is covered in traditional solar PV i say go for it. but not a second sooner.

I've been using autodownloaders and software like Plex for a while now. Was really happy to hear about popcorn time, since it seems that in this grand internet that somehow no one had been able to piece everything together and streamline it. Its so much effort to keep an up to date media library and netflix style browsing is absolutely the next step in streaming. I hope someone replaces this soon.

Also, why did they make the app dependent on their own servers? they could have said which sites to get each bit of movie information from, and which torrent RSS to grab from all within the application. They didnt even need to host anything. So weird.

General Discussion / Re: Debate: Bill Nye vs Ken Ham
« on: February 04, 2014, 01:14:27 PM »
I think that this debate will go along similar lines to one of us having an argument with a creationist. The creationist will spout bullshit, we would state facts, and neither will gain anything. In this case, Ham is using Nyes celebrity status to spout his bullshit to millions of atheists, and if creationists are like any other religious nut, a win for them is spreading the word of god to as many people as possible.

I would play eve if i could figure out wtf to do lol

I would think that small pot growers would still be able to compete though. Big cig makers make horrible cigarettes.  Only brand of cigs i can even smoke are american spirits. I wouldnt trust Marlboro to make fine marijuana. I bet they would throw the same addictive additive shit they put in tobacco.

General Discussion / On China - Jamaje mostly. No racism talk.
« on: January 20, 2014, 01:39:38 PM »
I've been playing p99 with an austrian who has been in china for about 2 years. He has told me a whole lot of stories that I'm not sure if i believe or not.

Smoking Pot - get caught smoking or with weed - you go to the police station and are executed there.

African Immigrant Workers - You tested positive for HIV on your work health exam - you go to police station you are executed.

I was kinda drunk when he was really going into the nuances of china, but i remember him talking about how his girlfriend spent 2 days in the police station because they forgot to pay a water bill. That a lot of the police can be bribed or kind of made friends with to avoid punishments (kind of hazy on this one)

Anyway, he said a lot of weird stuff about china, he liked it, but what he said seems to agree with your posts in that shit thread about how something is racist depending on how you word it.

i'd love to hear a bit more about China and the overall weird/different things you've seen or heard about.

if pot was legalized would any of you guys try to work in the pot industry?
I still smoke cigs, but these days i know more pot smokers than tobacco smokers. My smoker friends have all fallen off the habit.
I feel like if this shit ever does become federally legal it would be such a massive industry that there would be all kinds of interesting jobs that pop up. Imagine the websites to be designed, the inhalation devices to be built, the glass to be blown, the herb to be grown.

What would you guys do?
